Description
The 2018 Brut Rosé is the first of its kind for Domaine de Broglie. This lively sparkling wine was made with Pommard Clone Pinot Noir grapes from Block H of our estate vineyard. The fruit was harvested early and the juice spent only a few hours on the skins to give it a beautiful light pink hue. Harvesting early resulted in lower sugar levels and a higher acidity, bringing a refreshing crispness to the finished wine. The Brut Rosé was first bottled in January 2019 and spent 18 months en tirage before being riddled then finally disgorged in September 2020.
The 2018 Brut Rosé has an expansive nose with dominant notes of tropical citrus, grapefruit, and lemon peel, coupled with a subtle nuttiness. In addition to classic “brut” flavors, the palate is bright with notes of pomegranate, grapefruit, and a hint of strawberry. This sparkling wine dances on the palate displaying wonderful tension that carries through to the finish.
Domaine de Broglie wines are made from fruit grown on our 42-acre, LIVE certified, sustainable vineyard located in the Dundee Hills of Oregon’s Willamette Valley.
