Description
Block A is one of the original plantings of Pinot Noir on the Domaine de Broglie estate, planted in 1999 with Pinot Noir Clone 114. Planted at 860-860 feet, much of the block is western facing. Clone 114 has small, compact clusters, but is rich with color and concentration.
Clean and straightforward with significant texture, the 2018 Block A Clone 114 Pinot Noir has an elegant profile highlighted by red fruit and soft tannins. Candy apple and pomegranate aromas mingle with scents of licorice wood and spices. Strawberry and red fruits drive the front, with a delicate mid palate leading to a subtle tannic finish.
